Abstract

The study of history has often been shaped by dominant narratives that reflect the perspectives of colonizers and conquerors, often sidelining or erasing Indigenous voices and experiences. This scholarly exploration delves into the imperative of reframing historical narratives, critically examining history from Indigenous perspectives. It seeks to elucidate how incorporating Indigenous viewpoints offers a more holistic and nuanced understanding of historical events, challenging colonial constructs and fostering a more inclusive historiography. Drawing upon interdisciplinary perspectives encompassing history, anthropology, and cultural studies, this article aims to critically reevaluate history through the lens of Indigenous perspectives.
